One thing I try to avoid is going against a team on a win streak. The Atlanta Braves cashed for the seventh straight game in yesterday’s win over the Marlins. Today’s play is not about the trust in Martin Perez. He is coming off just allowing one hit his last start, and the Marlins did give him difficulties earlier in the season. Yet, I trust the Braves lineup that is getting timely hits from the top, middle, and bottom of the order as we saw Dubon and Riley deliver yesterday. Back the Braves here. |

Wednesday, for the second time in their current series against the Padres, the Dbacks cashed as a home underdog. They are now ten games above .500 at home, with the same home record as the LA Dodgers at 33-23. Still, I expect this series to be a split as the season long track record shows, with Arizona having won five out of the nine games. The Diamondbacks have not pushed new starter Kohl Drake beyond five innings, and that puts the bullpen in a vulnerable spot. In Drake’s three starts all opponents have scored five runs or more, and are averaging 7.5 runs. Grab the Padres. |
