Joe D will CRUSH THE BOOKS today in CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT play: SEC EARLY WINNER, UT/VANDY WINNER, (5-1 RUN) LAS VEGAS STRIP MOVE, and my BIG GAME 9-1 BIG TEN BEATDOWN. Follow me today, ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK!
Friday’s FREE WINNER: Michigan State Spartans. Game 812. 6:00 PM PST/9:00 PM EST. Amassing 20-wins in college basketball is a very respectable feat. The UCLA Bruins are 22-10 this season. They enter today's game winning and covering three straight, and five of their last six overall outings. But something we know about the Bruins; they lose a little luster when they travel. This season at home they own a 17-1 record. When they travel, they fall way short. These two teams met approximately one month ago as Michigan State devoured UCLA in East Lansing, 82-59. The Spartans come into today's game well-rested having not taken the court since March 8. They own a 25-6 overall record, covering 17 of 31 lined games this season. They are no stranger to playing in Illinois. As a matter of fact, this is just a short trip for MSU, a little over 200 miles away from home. You're going to see a lot of green shirts in the stands in this matchup. Having a very favorable crowd will certainly boost the Spartans, who finished with a 15-5 conference record this season. With the bigger, stronger frontcourt, I expect Michigan State to devour UCLA on the boards here with their 11th-ranked offensive rebounding core, and their fifth-ranked defensive rebuilding core. Please remember that they own a top-25 defense overall, and will contain the Bruins outside shooting, an area UCLA heavily relies upon. They come in here with fresher legs, the confidence of knowing they picked apart this opponent. Take MSU. Thank you. |

Georgia. Georgia comes into this contest well-rested, riding momentum, and looking for a little payback. The Bulldogs have last taken the court on March 7, which was their third consecutive win and cover and their fifth over their last six outings. They also dropped a heartbreaker in overtime at home in mid-January against Mississippi. Losing by two-points in OT on their own court can’t sit well with the Bulldogs. Speaking of the Rebels, they did hand the Longhorns a 10-point defeat yesterday as a 5.5-point underdog. That was the third cover over the last four outings. But only their second SU victory over their last 10 contests. Going back to UGA, this is a team that set a school regular-season record for wins at points scored. They rank sixth nationally, accounting over 90.4 PPG. They are monsters on the offensive glass, which allows them quite a few second-chance opportunities. I don't see Mississippi with their lackluster offense which posts only 75.3 PPG, keeping pace on the scoreboard here. I also see them being outmuscled in the paint by a much stronger, much bigger much more physical Bulldog’s opponent. I don't think this line is anywhere near where it should be. Take Georgia. Thank you. |

Colorado State. My friends, I'm going against the grain here. I know as of posting this play, most of the general public are coming in on San Diego State. I mean they are a 20-game winner and finished second during the regular season in the MWC. But this is a team that has struggled late, dropping four of their last six straight up, and five of their six against the spread. One of those losses and no covers was against this very same Colorado State opponent. Speaking of which, the Rams are one of the hottest teams in the nation, winning nine of their last 10 games SU, and covering six of their last nine. They did play yesterday, taking down the Bulldogs of Fresno State. But I don't think they'll come into this matchup fatigued. They'll have enough time to rest and prepare for this contest. They have taken down San Diego State in two of the last three meetings, both SU and ATS, and come into this matchup with momentum. While SD State is a good team, they're not explosive offensively, not particularly good on the boards at either end of the court, and aren't as strong as their opponent here on defense. CSU which does possess five players either accounting for or flirting with double-digits, can keep pace on the scoreboard here. I also feel they're deep enough with talent to rotate in fresh players when they need to. This is way too many points. Take the Rams. Thank you. |

Joe D was just 1-pt away from sweeping the NCAAB TOURNEY BOARD Wednesday. Today WE SWEEP! I have the STRONGEST NCAAB DAILY CARD THUS FAR THIS SEASON. Join me, and together we will SWEEP THE BOARD. Thursday's Free play: Northwestern Wildcats. Northwest has been playing some very good basketball. Not only are they winning, they are covering the number, as well. The Wildcats have covered four in a row and seven of their last 10 overall outings. The last two days, they bested the Nittany Lions by 10-points, and then yesterday they took down the Hoosiers, a game in which they were nearly about a 7.0-point underdog, 74-61. Are they due for a letdown? Are they stepping up in class significantly? For the first question, I would say I don't know for sure. For the second, it is certain that they are stepping up in class. The Boilermakers are a darn good basketball team. Granted, they are not the team they were over recent seasons, and they have failed to cover four straight, while losing three of their last four. However, three of those matchups were against Michigan State at home, Ohio State on the road, and Wisconsin at home. Yes, the last meeting between these two teams took place just eight days ago as Northwestern lost a heartbreaker, 70-66. Laying double-digits is never an easy thing especially this time of year. It's true, the Wildcats don't have the most explosive offense, despite having one of the best players in the conference in Nick Martinelli. But the Boilermakers squad consists of three double-digit scorers, one player just under DD's, a few others flirting with it. They outscore opponents by an average of 11.6 PPG and are very good on the defensive boards. They are considerably better on the offensive boards in this matchup, too. And let's not forget they are one of the best in the nation from downtown. If this line would've been a little higher, I would've come in with the underdog just to side with a team that's been money covering for us bettors. I do feel it will be a bit closer than the pointspread. But I am not so sure that I would put them on as a premium play. I still like it. Take Northwestern. Thank you. |

Texas Tech. The Red Raider took the only meeting against the Cyclones this season on the last day of February on the road, 82-73. Maybe they did lose their last two outings, but they do come in here better-rested having not taken the court since March 7. Iowa State following that loss took a beating on the road at Arizona and then played against Arizona State twice which does include yesterday’s drubbing over the Sun Devil, which are a far cry from the opponent they're facing here today. Now the Red Raiders are still without JT Toppin (check status). But this team has a very smart coaching staff, is very deep, and has the talent to compensate. They're very strong at both ends of the court on the boards, and are one of the best three-point shooting teams in college basketball hitting 39.6% from downtown. Granted ISU is quite good from downtown as well, but they are facing a very frustrating defense, particularly from the arc. I think this is way too many points. Take the Red Raiders. Thank you. |

Ohio State. Yes, Iowa took down Ohio State this season at home at the end of February, 74-57. As a matter of fact, they took each of the last two meetings both straight up and against the spread. But they don't come in here running hot as they have dropped three of their last four games SU, and overall, six of their last nine. They are also 3-7 ATS. The Buckeyes enter this matchup better-rested and hotter winning and covering three straight. They've been money covering six of their last seven outings. I feel the extra rest will certainly benefit this team. While the Hawkeyes lack the explosive offense, they do own a solid defense. However, the Buckeyes score more, and are better at both ends of the court on the boards. I expect them to absolutely decimate their opponent from downtown as they ranked 55th in the nation in three-point shooting, and will light up their opponents 187th-ranked three-point defense. Take Ohio State. Thank you. |

Virginia. Virginia had no problems taking down NC State in both matchups this season, each time holding the Wolfpack to a mere 61-points. In the early-January meeting on the road they took them down 76-61, and then in the late-February matchup at home, they really put a hurting on them, 90-61. The Cavaliers comes in here a little better rested, and certainly the hotter team. I just don't see NC State having any success here offensively against one of the most frustrating defenses in college basketball. Oh, by the way, Virginia can also keep pay offensively, and are much stronger at both ends of the court on the boards. Take the Cavaliers. Thank you. |
